The Journal of Clinical and Scientific Research (JCSR) was born in the year 2012 on the occasion of Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences celebrating its 19th anniversary. The JCSR is a peer-reviewed, quarterly, free full-text, print and online indexed journal that charges no submission fees, processing fees or publication fees.
From 2014, the JCSR has provided digital object identifier numbers, the unique identification of the article and quick response code guiding to online access of the articles.
The JCSR promotes electronic submission and this along with the content being available free full-text online is a boon to young researchers who wish to publish their research work. Furthermore, no fees are charged for submission, processing and publication by the journal. Thus, JCSR encourages vibrant young faculty researchers and post-graduates to submit their work for publication in the journal. Every year, in an attempt to encourage authors who publish manuscripts in the journal, the JCSR has been awarding the 'Best Paper Award' in the 'original article' and 'case report' categories. The journal gets distributed free of cost to all the medical colleges, medical institutions, medical universities and research and development institutions in the country.
The journal is already indexed in Index Copernicus, Crossref, CrossCheck, Academic Index, Open J-gate, JournalSeek, Indian Science Abstracts, Geneva Foundation for Medical Education and Research, New Jour, Academic Journals Database, Research Bible and Directory of Research Journals Indexing, several of which are listed by the Medical Council of India as necessary requirements for recognising a publication by medical college faculty. Further, the JCSR uses 'iThenticate'® for plagiarism prevention services.
From 2018, the JCSR online manuscript submission and processing system and webhosting is being hosted by M/s. Wolters Kluwer India Pvt. Ltd.
