 About the Society

Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), A University established by Act of Andhra Pradesh State Legislature, is   a tertiary care referral centre and a jewel in the crown of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, Tirupati. The major objectives of SVIMS include service, training and education in advanced medical sciences and technology.  The Sri Balaji Arogya Vara Prasadini Scheme (SBAVP) was started in the year 1994, to accomplish the goal of making available the sophisticated medical technology to every individual at an affordable cost and also to conduct research activities in the field of medical research. One of the primary responsibilities of SVIMS is fostering, facilitating, nurturing, promoting research and documenting the valuable research findings for the posterity.

With SVIMS marching ahead into the third decade of its existence, there was a strongly felt requirement for having a forum for documenting these clinical achievements as well as valuable research conducted in the institute as well as in similar institutions/organizations across the state, country and the globe in the form of a "medical journal".

Accordingly, Journal of Clinical and Scientific Research was started, in 2012. The journal publishes original research communications of clinical and biomedical research. It presents innovative and novel biomedical research that advances or illuminates medical science as well as those that improve the clinical acumen. It is issued Quarterly, in four issues per year: January, April, July and October.

Digital Archiving

Wolters Kluwer Medknow provides for long-term digital preservation through two primary partnerships, Portico and CLOCKSS.

Portico is a leading digital preservation service worldwide. The content is preserved as an archival version and is not publically accessible via Portico, but is provided when required under specific conditions, such as discontinuation of the collection or catastrophic failure of the website.

While advertisements are crucial to this journal to be able to keep all content free for everyone, ethical considerations are in place to ensure the integrity of the journal and its content:

  • "Pop-up" and "banner" ads appear on a random, rotating basis. The advertiser has no control or input over the pages where their ads appear.
  • The Editorial Board has full and final approval over the content of all advertisements.
  • Advertisers will never be shown any manuscripts or other content prior to publication.

  Scope of the journal

The Journal of Clinical and Scientific Research (JCSR) [ISSN (print) 2277-5706 and ISSN (online) 2277-8357  publishes original communications of clinical and biomedical research. It present s innovative and novel biomedical research that advances, illuminates medical science or educates the journal readers as well as those that improve the clinical acumen. Articles with clinical interest and implications will be given preference. It is issued Quarterly, in four issues per year. Manuscripts dealing with clinical and biomedical research will be considered for publication as Original Articles provided they contain results of original investigations. Medical practitioners are encouraged to contribute interesting Case Reports. Review Articles (whether invited or submitted) are intended to provide comprehensive latest review of burning topics in clinical and biomedical research. Short Communications of original research and clinical experiences, Clinical Images, Commentaries, Radiology Forum, and Book Reviews are considered under Special Features category. Correspondences on opinion/discussion on published articles as well as other relevant issues will also be considered.
