The comments made regarding the article are well taken. It is now well established that there is an increased susceptibility of specific tumours and other lesions in immunocompromised individuals who are human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) positive. We wish to clarify that, in the present case,[1] our routine hospital protocol of pre-operative screening for HIV and hepatitis B and C viruses was followed, and all such infections were ruled out. As the case fell into syndromic category, because of associated meningioma, chance for any further genetic analysis was not possible as the patient succumbed to infection.
